The tables are turned

So this year rather than buy everything new, I decided to try and get some second hand things and upcycle……….my first project was this cute toddler table and chairs. I found it on gumtree locally for £8 looking a little bit tired and worn – I think it’s an ikea one. I was thinking I might use it in photo shoots at some point too.

And then I painted in two shades of Farrow & Ball eggshell – Calamine and Charleston Grey. I really love it and Carmen loves it more – her favourite instruction to anyone that comes over is “sit, sit!!” So useful for jigsaws, lego, picnic lunches etc and maybe painting etc when she’s a bit older. I have a grown-ups table coming soon which I’m going to paint to match….I’m sure this is the wrong way round and the toddler stuff is supposed to be painted to match ours?! The tea set was one of Carmen’s Christmas presents and “tea!” is now a daily occurrence…

I also have these cute little wooden birdies which one of these days I’m going to paint to match and then attach to the back of the chairs – watch this space.
